Lisa Applegate Obituary
AGE: 53 • Wilington
Lisa A. Applegate, beloved wife and mother, age 53, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at her home with her beloved husband of 20 years by her side on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2014.
Lisa was the beloved wife of Russell D. Applegate, loving mother of Payton K. Applegate and Cody; loving daughter to Nancy A. Mayew and the late John V. Mayew; loving sister to Patricia Blackway, Linda Davis and John V. Mayew, Jr., beloved niece to Mary and George J. Benvegno; dedicated daughter in law to Mary D. Applegate and the late Russell F. Applegate; sister in law to William S. and Melissa Applegate, Sabrina Mayew and Jeff Blackway; loving aunt to Jenna, Brittany, Jeffrey, William, Johnny, Tommy, Sara and Sahler.
Born in Chester, PA she moved to Delaware in 1961. She was a 1979 graduate of McKean High School and a graduate of the Delaware Technical School of Dental Hygiene and a licensed buyer's specialist for the Riggin Group of ReMAx Wilmington.
Lisa enjoyed the many family vacations to Disney World, going to the beach, gardening, working out with all of her friends at the HAC and walking her loyal dog, Cody. She enjoyed life and was taken from us far too soon. She will be deeply missed by all her family, friends and neighbors.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, April 22 from 11 am - 1pm at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2503 Centerville Rd., Wilmington with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1 pm.
Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to in Lisa's memory to Delaware Puppy Rescue, P.O. Box 4, Hockessin, DE 19707.

My name is Denver and I am being saved thanks to
Lisa Applegate and the many that loved her.
I am a six week old Great Dane puppy whose right front leg was dislocated at the age of four weeks old.
Sadly the only chance for me to live without pain, or to live at all, is to have the leg removed. The surgery is being scheduled to be done in the next two weeks.
Donations made in Lisa's honor are going toward's the surgery to give Denver a chance. We'll have challenges ahead of us - A Great Dane with only one front leg - but if you met him and you knew Lisa they are combination of strength and determination.
We will continue to provide updates on Lisa's boy Denver at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org as we learn more about his surgery date and progress. We hope Lisa would be proud.

Lisa had a beautiful smile.. I knew her growing up and saw her again when Payton was at Karate USA with my kids. I remember her walking her dog in Westover Hills and she was also our Dental Hygenist.
