Marilyn F. Blacka
72, of Dover died Saturday, May 26, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Born Feb. 28, 1940 in Stone Creek, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Zada Everhart Miller. Marilyn was also preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Kay; step father, Wilmar Krebs; brothers-in-law, Wayne Egler and Jack Johnson. She retired from Park Village Health Care Center after 16 years as a Nurse's Aide. Marilyn enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, painting and traveling with her husband in their RV. But mostly, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved taking care of her family, and was so proud of her children and all of their accomplishments.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Lowell Blacka with whom she would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on Aug. 18, 2012; children, Kathy Burley of Texas, Cindy Moss and Jim (Heather) Blacka both of Dover; sisters, Marlene (Carl) Byrd of Canton and Lucille Johnson of New Philadelphia; brothers, Richard (Sharelle) Miller of Stone Creek and Orlan (Linda) Miller of Colorado; grandchildren, Heath, Luke and Noah Burley, Leah Dapoz and Tori, Kaci, Chloe and Parker Blacka; great- grandchildren, Zoeii and Josie; dear friends, George and Jeanette Haefner of New York.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Jerusalem Church at New Philadelphia with Rev. Frank Sapp officiating. Interment will be in the Jerusalem Church Cemetery. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church.
