Nancy Silvashy Risley Obituary
Nancy was born Jan. 11, 1955, in Youngstown the daughter of Robert J. and Laura A. (Thomson) Silvashy and was a 1973 graduate of Lowellville High School. Nancy was an LPN with Omni Manor for 22 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of Mahoning Presbyterian Church in New Bedford, Pa. She was an avid hunter, and enjoyed fishing, and being a homemaker and grandmother. Nancy entered the Canfield Fair yearly with her baked goods and cross stitch, searching for the elusive blue ribbon.
Nancy leaves to cherish her memory two brothers Scott (Susan) Silvashy of Canfield and their sons Ryan and Ron, and Joe (Paula) Silvashy of West Lake and their children Miranda and Joe; her stepmother, Nancy J. Silvashy of Hubbard; three stepsisters, Beth (Paul) Bertus of Pittsburgh, Nancy (Tom) Massa of Sacramento, Calif., and their children Jillian and Tommy, and Jane (Tom) Schultz of Seattle, Wash.; one stepbrother, Bob (Jennifer) Gray of Boardman and their children Bo and Meredith. Nancy also leaves her lifelong companion Herbert Risley; two stepchildren, Hud (Karen) Risley of Baltic, Conn., and Robyn (Scott) Filby of New Philadelphia, O.; six step-grandchildren, Devin, Rory and Adie Risley, Wyatt, Isaac and Annie Filby. Nancy will also be sadly missed by her dearest friend Melanie Diana, as well as her hunting family Jerry, Daryl and Bobby Miles and brother-in-law Jeff Risley.
Besides her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by two sons, Mickey and Larry Risley.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Monday and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers Nancy requested donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, O. 44512.
