Pauline Iskra

ISKRA, Pauline (Stachelski) Ms. Pauline (Stachelski) Iskra, 89, passed away on Saturday (November 1, 2008) at Highland Health Care in Cheshire. She was the wife of the late Henry Iskra. Born in New Britain on February 10, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosalie (Trzcinski) Stachelski. She retired in 1986 from Forestville Nursing Home. She was an avid Red Sox and UCONN women's basketball fan. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and trips to the casino. The most important thing in her life were her seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Pauline is survived by two daughters; Maureen and her husband Franklin Crowley, Jean and her husband William Raczka all of Southington, her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Kevin and Keith Crowley, Kathleen Bonomi, Gail Skrzypiec, Linda and David Raczka, and great grandchildren, Emily, Christopher, Aidan, Kayleigh, Samantha, James, Maiah and Tyler. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law; Genevieve Norton, Irene Piontek, Regina Rosenthal, Jean Plocharczyk; a brother-in-law Eugene Iskra and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Henry to whom she was married for 52 years, Pauline was predeceased by three brothers Joseph, Leon and Anthony Stachelski. Funeral will be on Wednesday 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. to St. Dominic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain.
