Darlene Courtney Obituary

Darlene M. (Shorty) Courtney of Beaverville passed away May 21, 2025 at Arcadia in Watseka. She was born Aug. 18, 1939 in Joliet, IL. She is the daughter of Ervin and Lorraine (Skoglund) Rovenhagen. Darlene married William Courtney on Jan 19, 1963 in Bradley. She is survived by one daughter Jenean (Jody) Roberts of Beaverville, IL and one son William (Bill) Courtney of Kentland, IN, six grandchildren: Sonya (RJ Benner) Courtney, Amber Courtney, Joshua (Samantha Roth) Ervin, Jessie Carley, Malorie (Clayton Eden) Ervin, Zachary (Megan Wetzel) Roberts and 18 great-grandchildren. One sister survives, Betty Ramey of Rockford IL. Also Four sister-in-laws and 3 brother-in laws Shirley Mullen of Paris, IL, Pam (Rich) Lottinville of St. Anne, IL, Nancy (Ed) Hanen of Haines City, FL and Kathy Courtney of Watseka ,IL.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Clyde Rovenhagen and Glen Rovenhagen, two brother-in-laws, Thomas Courtney and Edward Courtney and a great-grandson Colson Carley. Darlene was a hard worker working several places including Baker and Taylor and Hi Grade Egg Farm. Her and Bill enjoyed camping and fishing, and having a few beers with family and friends especially at the Beaverville Pub. Upon her request, there is no service. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

Bill And Darlene and Jim and I spent many good years together when our children were small. We went camping, the guys fishing, playing cards etc. Loved her like a sister. So sorry Jenine and Billy
