Douglas Slack Obituary

Douglas Owen Slack, 52, of Gilman, IL., died suddenly on Sunday,  May 17, 2015 at 9:19 A.M. at his home. 
Doug's funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Gilman with the Rev. Rey Treyes officiating. 
Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Gilman. 
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. 
A prayer service will be held at 3:30 P.M. at the Redenius Funeral Home.   Memorials may be made to his son Aaron's education.
Doug was born in Watseka, IL., on February 23, 1963 to Daniel J. and Diane (VadeBoncour) Slack.
His childhood was spent in Gilman area and graduated from the Gilman High School in 1981.  He received a Bachelor's of Science Degree from Olivet Nazarene College in Bourbonnais, IL.
Doug is survived by his son - Aaron of Paxton, IL; his father - Daniel of Gilman; a sister - Lynne E. Pubentz of York, South Carolina; a brother-in-law - Jon Pubentz of Birmingham, Alabama; a brother - Gregory Slack of Gilman; and a niece and two nephews - Kaitlin, Ryan and Logan.
He is preceded in death by his mother.
Doug was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Gilman.
He was past president of the Gilman Chamber of Commerce and member and past treasurer of Duck's Unlimted.  Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a St. Louis Cardinal's Fan.
