Orby A. Curby

Orby A. Curby, 89, Beaverville, died Thursday, March 31, 2011, at the Gilman Nursing Home.
He was born June 21, 1921, in Beaverville , the son of Eddie and Rosella Francouer Curby.
He married Mary Rose Blais Jan. 24, 1942. She preceded him in death on Aug. 26, 2005.
Mr. Curby owned and operated Curby Hardware in Beaverville for over 50 years. He was a charter member of the Beaverville Lions Club and a Charter Member of the Beaverville Fire Dept. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he was chairman of the Building Commission for the parish hall and had been a lector and usher. He was a Holy Name Society member and a board member of St. Mary's Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, James (Burnetta) Curby of Beaverville; one daughter-in-law, Karen Curby of Bourbonnais; three daughters, Mary Jane (Jim) LaFond of Watseka, Linda (Ed) Howe of Beaverville, Debora (Brian) Martell of Donovan; one brother, Norman Curby of California; one sister-in-law, Doris Curby of Beaverville; 14 grandchildren, Scott (Kathy) LaFond, Mark (Alice) LaFond, Tim (Mary Blum) LaFond, Brad (Michelle) LaFond, Amy (Chad) Hyman, Tara (Brett) Lemanager, Dana (Leslie Davenport) Curby, Sarah (Dennis) Neil, Matt (Melanie) Howe, Emily (Scott) Shold, Lucas (fiance`Christina) Martell, Jacob (Shanda) Martell, Jennifer (Jonathan) Dole, John (fiance` Jayme Richardson) Curby; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Michael Curby; one brother, Ray Curby.
Visitation was from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home in St. Anne and from 10-11 a.m. today at the church.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Beaverville with Father Robert Coleman officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Beaverville.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Restoration Fund or Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home.
