Robert Donohue Obituary
Bob was born on September 2, 1925 in Oxford, IN, the son of Clarence and Anna Donohue.
Mr. Donohue was a veteran of the U.S. Army Corps during World War II. He owned and managed Donohue Fertilizer in Sheldon for fifty-two years. Bob served on the boards of Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association, Shewami Country Club, and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was also a member of St. Edmund Catholic Church in Watseka, Watseka Knights of Columbus #4391, Watseka American Legion Post #23, and Watseka Elks Club.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Donohue; ex-wife, Ellaretta Ziemer; two brothers, Bill and Cyril Donohue; one step-daughter, Carol Joan Wollinsky; two brothers-in-law, Frank Donohue and Jack Murray; one sister-in-law, Arlene Donohue; and one step-son in-law, David Phillippe.
Surviving him are two sons, Michael (Shirley Stevens) Donohue of Crossville, TN and John (Pat Warren) Donohue of Watseka; two step-daughters, Judith Phillippe of Champaign and Karen Jayne (Robert) Allie of Land O' Lakes, FL; two sisters, Mary Lou Donohue of Lafayette, IN and Jane Ann Murray of Fairfield, OH; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Donohue of Sheldon; seven step-grandchildren; and fifteen step-great grandchildren; and one step-son in-law, Robert Wollinsky.
Visitation will be from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024 at St. Edmund Catholic Church in Watseka. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edmund with Rev. Michael Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka with graveside military rites by Watseka American Legion Post #23.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice in Watseka.
