Bernard Lloyd Radigan 1946 - 2021
HERKIMER - Bernard "Bernie" Lloyd Radigan, 75, passed away on July 28, 2021 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side.
He was born in Utica, on June 10, 1946, a son of the late Lloyd and Mary Regina Allen Radigan and was a 1964 graduate of Sauquoit Valley Central School. On March 5, 1988, Bernie was united in marriage with Cheryl Hoover in Lysander, NY. After training at Keesler AFB he served as a Sergeant servicing radar technologies. Upon completion of his time with the Air Force, Bernie worked at Alion Science and Technology (IITRI), Rome, for 46 years until his retirement in 2020.
Bernie's passions included Naval history, family genealogy and automobiles. He was known at local car cruise-ins for his detailed model cars in a collection he called his "Big Little Car Show". Bernie was also very involved in supporting other veterans through the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Cheryl; two daughters, Alyssa Radigan and her husband, TJ Cordes and Erin Radigan; his brother, Jan Radigan; and his special canine companion, Ted.
Bernie's family invite relatives and friends to Celebrate his Life with them at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St., Sauquoit, on Thursday, August 12 at 5:00. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clayville.
