Elwin Gilbert Obituary
BULOXI, MS – Elwin "Duke" Gilbert passed away on October 20, 2017 in Buloxi, MS.
Mr. Gilbert graduated from Herkimer High in 1974 and Curry College, Milton, MA in 1978. He worked for the Ilion school system as a substitute teacher, then as a custodian. In 2014, he retired to Ft. McCoy, FL.
He leaves his father and mother, Frank and Gwenn Gilbert; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Janet Gilbert of East Herkimer and nephews, Josiah, Isaiah, Elijah and wife, Alice and great-niece, Emma; niece, Hannah Gilbert; great-niece, Quinn; brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Linda Gilbert and nieces, Echo and Paige Gilbert; and great-nephew, Chase Gilbert, of Las Vegas, NV; and sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Phillip Long, of Ft. McCoy, FL; many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends, Tim and Brenda Murphy and family. Duke was predeceased by brothers, Brian and Glenn Gilbert.
