Florence "Betty" Chandler 1919 - 2016
LITTLE FALLS, NY - Florence Elizabeth "Betty" Pedley Chandler, entered into eternal peace early Thursday morning, October 20th, 2016, at the Alpine Nursing Center.
Betty was born August 24th, 1919, in Lock Haven, PA, and moved to Bradenton, FL, at an early age. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Sara Pedley. She graduated from Maryville College in Tennessee and RIT. She was last employed as Assistant Vice Principal in Thompson, CT.
She leaves behind two daughters, Nancy (Wilbur) Hills, of Little Falls, NY, their children, Gabriel, Jacob, and Joshua (Tricia) Hills, and Sara (Douglas) Larson, of Scottsdale, AZ; and a beloved daughter-in-law, Connie (Allan) Chandler, of Herkimer, their children Missy Chandler and Mary Byrne, of Wake Forest, NC, and Scott (Rebecca) Chandler, of Fairfield, CT; great-grandchildren, Noah, Mia, Brody, Veronica, Andrew and Anthony. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Allan Chandler, in 1975; and her son, A. Allan Chandler, in 2015.
Betty was very active for many years in the United Methodist Church of North Grosvenordale, CT, and known for her "over-feeding" everyone, especially her famous chocolate cream pies. In her youth, she was an avid tennis player, swimmer and pianist. She is now at peace and free of pain.
Burial is private, no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider donations to your local food pantry or animal shelter.
The family wishes to thank all who helped care for her these last years.
Funeral arrangements were prearranged have been entrusted into the caring guidance of Daniel J. Enea Funeral and Cremation Care, 5860 State Route 5, between Little Falls and Herkimer, 508-5250.

I enjoyed visiting with Florence at Alpine as a volunteer. She was so upbeat and pleasant to be around. She loved her family and talked about them often. I remember the enjoyment she got from feeding the birds (deer) outside her window. We had many good laughs during our visits. She loved her plants and flowers and had quite the green thumb. She was a good bingo player as well. She will be greatly missed. Sorry to hear of her passing. Joyce, volunteer
