John O'Connor Obituary
RICHFIELD SPRINGS, NY - John D. O'Connor passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021.
He was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Weiler O'Connor. John was raised in Richfield Springs. For thirty years, he taught school in Ilion Central School, retiring in 1998. Mr. O'Connor had served, for many years, as a member of the Village of Richfield Springs Board of Trustees.
He leaves behind his wife, Linda; one son, Michael O'Connor and his wife, Rene, of Clifton Park; a daughter, Kristin, of Hillsbourgh, NC; his beloved grandchildren, Chloe, Gavin, Charlie and Avery; a sister, Erna Pulver, of Baldwinsville; his mother-in-law, Anne Hornacek; sisters-in-law, Christine Slocum and husband, Gregg, Susan Daley and husband, Bob and Kathryn VanNess; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Kaminski; and brother, Paul O'Connor.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. O'Connor will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs. All Covid protocols will be implemented. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery will take place later this spring.
Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to St. Joseph the Worker RC Church, Post Office Box # 791, Richfield Springs, NY 13439.

It was my pleasure to work with John at North Street School and then at Remington. We had many fun visits at lunch time. Our focus was often on Maine. I will remember him with a smile and a sense of gratitude for the time we shared.
