Robert Miosek Obituary
Robert J. Miosek 1937 - 2016
BERTHOUD, CO - Robert "Bob" Jacob Miosek, 78, died March 10, 2016, after being stricken at his home in Berthoud, Colorado.
He was born October 24, 1937, the second child of the late Jacob and Anna Urich Miosek. Bob attended the Little Falls public schools, graduating from Little Falls High School in the class of 1955. He enlisted in the Air Force that same year, receiving an honorable discharge in 1961.
In April, 1977, Bob married Darlene Bradley in Boulder, Colorado. Together, they shaped a happy and devoted life that included hiking, mountain climbing, skiing, and horseback riding. Bob was a member of a gold prospector's club and took many fun-filled trips panning for gold in the back wood's streams of the Rocky Mountains. He was employed by and retired from Storage Technology, a software development company.
At the age of 16, and unbeknownst to his parents, Bob earned his pilot's license. He soon convinced his father to follow suit, and after earning his license, father and son spent many hours airborne together. Flying his Piper Cub remained his lifelong passion. He kept his plane in the backyard of his ranch where he could hop in and take a ride at any time. He could often be seen soaring over the Rocky Mountains and meeting with pilot friends.
Bob was a devout worshiper at the Father's House Ministries, serving as an integral member of the congregation, assisting in the operation of its programs and supporting its services.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Bob's family was always first on his mind. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Darlene; his children, Robert (Margaret) and daughter, Stephanie Bach (Ken); five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Marilyn Morse Miosek; sisters, Sylvia (Ivan) Van Roekel, Sioux City, Iowa, and Karen (Ray) Schimmer, Berne, New York; his aunts, Shirley Urich and Naomi Gross; and his nieces, Melissa Jayne Newkirk and Katharine Ann Schimmer; several cousins; and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Beverly; and his nephew, Roger Shoemaker.
Services were held at the Father's House Ministries, Fort Collins, Colorado, March 19, 2016. Burial, with full military honors, took place in Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado, March 21.
Cards of remembrance and sympathy may be sent to The Father's House Ministries, 2649 E. Mulberry Street, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
