FORT PLAIN - Robert D. Mosher, 94, formerly of Hessville Road, Fort Plain, NY passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at the St. Johnsville Nursing & Rehab. Center, St. Johnsville, where he has been a resident for the last several years.
He was born on February 5, 1923 in Oppenheim, NY, the son of the late George and Maude (Herringshaw) Mosher. He was educated in Inghams Mills and Youkers Bush Rural Schools.
Mr. Mosher was a veteran of the US Army, entering the service on April 3, 1946 in Albany, NY. He was honorably discharged as a Private First Class on October 7, 1947.
He was employed, at one time, as a truck driver for the Ralston-Purina Co., Oneonta and later as a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Mosher (Judi), Duluth, MN and Clark Mosher (Michelle), Saratoga, NY; his daughters, Ann Christsen (Anton), St. Johnsville and Patricia Buddles, Ft. Plain; his brothers, Howard Mosher, Ft. Plain and William Grainer, Ft. Plain; his sisters, Armeda Dillenbeck, Ft. Plain and Alberta Vogt, Fonda; fifteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Glen Harris; his daughter, Barbara Keyser; his brothers, Burton, Frank Harvey, Earl and Alford Mosher; and his sisters, Mable Edick, Bertha Grainer, Grace Smith, Helen Herringshaw, Freda Miller, Reba Herringshaw, Alta Looman and Gladys Mosher.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 3-6 p.m. and to attend the funeral services on Wednesday morning.
