Loving Mother, Devoted To Her Family
Mrs. Susan M. (Cherry) Fiato Dawidowicz , age 92, of Herkimer, passed with peace and grace on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, with her daughter by her side.
She was born August 14, 1923, in Herkimer, NY.
Susan was a person who always put everyone else before herself. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Edmund Dawidowicz, in 1990, and her infant daughter, Robin Fiato, in 1945.
Susan is survived by her sons, Alex (Rita) Fiato, Marco (Hatti) Fiato and James Chester (MaryAnn) Fiato, all of Pennsylvania; her daughter, Frances (Bruce) Bull, of Glenfield, NY; and a sister-in-law, Mary Dawidowicz, of East Herkimer. Susan will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother to eleven, Big Grandma or Dub-Dub to twenty-one, and a great-great-grandmother to three.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Mohawk Homestead who have provided exceptional care for our mother during the past years as she progressed with Alzheimer's. Mohawk Homestead made her stay there a "Home" with their love and support. Donations can be made to the Mohawk Homestead, 62 East Main Street, Mohawk, NY 13407. Envelopes will be available at the church service.
In keeping with Susan's wishes, there will be no public calling hours. Her funeral service and Celebration of Life will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church in Herkimer, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Leo Potvin. Burial will take place in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors, of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY.
