Agnes Donnelly Obituary

Donnelly, Agnes
TROY - Agnes Mary Kenneally Donnelly of Troy, N.Y., age 94, passed away on September 20, 2025, at St. Peter's Nursing Home. Born in Newport, County Tipperary, Ireland, on January 24, 1931, she was the daughter of Thomas Kenneally and Mary McKeough Kenneally.
Agnes came to the United States in the late 1950s and worked at Albany Medical Center in the Records department. She was active in the Catholic Young Adult League in Albany, where she met and married John (Jerry) Donnelly. She continued to work until her oldest, Mary Helen, was born, and then chose to forgo her career to focus on raising her children. Agnes and Jerry were adamant believers in education and dedicated their lives to providing both a strong faith and opportunities of higher education to their children. During retirement, Agnes and Jerry attended Mass daily and enjoyed taking day trips to Vt. or Western Mass. In addition, they enjoyed longer vacations to Ireland to visit Agnes' family, and Calif., to visit their daughter, Trish. Her strong faith that was instilled in her as a youngster in Ireland was her priority that guided her throughout her entire life.
She is survived by her children, Mary Helen Donnelly, Trish Donnelly Olson (Tim), and Martin (Marty) Donnelly (Beth); her four grandchildren, Jin (Rose), Jack, Kara, and Chloe; her sister,Bridget (Bridie) Coy; and her brother-in-law, Edward Urschel. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jerry Donnelly; her sisters, Mary Haskett, Noreen O'Gorman, Margaret O'Rourke, Susan Kenneally (Sr. Jean Antide); and her brother, Patrick Kenneally.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Agnes' family Friday, October 24, 2025, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Siena College, in the St. Francis room, next to St. Mary of the Angels Chapel, 515 Loudon Rd., Loudonville, N.Y. 12211.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Mary of the Angels Chapel, at Siena College, Loudonville.
