Albert Rhodes Obituary

LANSINGBURGH Albert Rhodes, 67, of Fourth Avenue, Lansingburgh, beloved husband of Sadie Oliver Rhodes, died on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy. Born in Sumter, S.C., on September 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Mack Willie and Annie Hammett Rhodes. Mr. Rhodes was employed for 30 years as a machinist for Allied Bendix in Green Island, retiring in 1996. He had then gone on to work at Rayben Enterprises in Albany up until his illness. He was on the senior usher board of the Fifth Ave. A.M.E. Zion Church. Survivors in addition to his wife include his four children, Tarmaine Rhodes, Rhonda (Terry) Jones, Tanisha (Kalem) Gang, all of Troy and Karla Rhodes of Baltimore, Md.; one brother, Paul E. Rhodes of Bronx, N.Y.; three sisters, Susanna Hannibal of Sumter, S.C., Daisy Sim of Bronx, N.Y. and Viola Montgomery of Bronx; five grandchildren, Dekarra Johnson, Terron and Terrance Jones and Keanna and Kemanni Gang. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Fifth Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church, Lansingburgh. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue, Troy, NY 12182, 518-235-0952.
