Wagner, Alice T. "Gaby" NISKAYUNA Alice T. Wagner "Gaby", passed away just shy of her 99th birthday on Saturday, June 22, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Helen Tamm; her husband, Captain Bernard F.Wagner of the Niskayuna Police Department; her sister, Helen and brother-in law, Mitchell Mindel; her son-in-law, John Vittas; and her great-granddaughter, Emily Lastinger. She is survived by her children, Edward F. Wagner (Joan), Judith Wagner and Wendy Vittas; her grandchildren, Kimberly Verkon Dee (Shawn), Thomas Tryon, Edward B. Wagner, Eric Wagner (Shelia), Jennifer Lastinger (Joseph), Melissa Gunderson (Dan) and Amy Reed (Justin); her great-children, Steven Verkon, Christopher, Andrew and Anna Lastinger, Amanda, Michael and Sarah Gunderson, Tristan and Kylee Reed; a niece, Vickie Nelson; and nephews, James (Ellen) and Mark (Linda) Mindel; as well as extended family. Alice served the town of Niskayuna for 40 years, starting in 1951 as a clerk/typist and became deputy town clerk in 1954. In 1961 she was elected to the position of town clerk and served in this position until her retirement in 1991. Alice "Gaby" was beloved by all who knew her and leaves behind a legacy of love. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (change in times) at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady.
