Soccio, Angeline C.
TROY - Angeline C. Soccio, 97, formerly of Sunset Drive passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Luisa DeCristopher DeBonis. She was a 1944 graduate of Troy High School and received an Associate Degree from Mildred Elley.
Angeline had been employed at RPI in Troy and retired in 1982, as an executive secretary at the School of Management. She had also worked for Judge Isadore Brookstein as a legal secretary, briefly as office manager for Cluett Peabody, and part time secretary at Equitable Life.
She was a talented seamstress, avid reader, crossword puzzle solver, gardener and good cook. She was active, bowling with the Speigletown bowlers, and golfing on vacation with friends in Cape Cod and North Creek. An original member of St. Bonaventure Church in Speigletown, now called Transfiguration Church; she cherished her faith, praying the rosary every morning.
She was the widow of Anthony A. Soccio who died in 2010, and the loving mother of Patricia Connolly (Kevin) of Wake Forest, N.C., and Anthony M. Soccio (Pamela) of Saratoga Springs; she was predeceased by her sister, Cora Halse and her brother, Michael DeBonis. She was the proud grandmother of David and Brian Connolly and Jennifer Lockrow (Timothy) and great-grandmother of Matthew Lockrow. Several wonderful nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday at noon at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. till noon, prior to the funeral service.
