Anthony Fazzone Obituary

Fazzone, Anthony J. CLIFTON PARK Anthony J. Fazzone, 75, entered into eternal life of July 27, 2008 at St Mary's Hospital, Troy, due to complications from Parkinson's disease. His wife and children were by his side. Born and educated in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Angelo and Maria (Lo tano) Fazzone. Tony served honorably in the U.S. Army in the 1st Cavalry Division during the Korean Conflict. He retired from John Hancock Insurance Company after 38 years, having been promoted from sales agent to staff manager to regional supervisor to district manager. Tony is survived by the love of his life, and best friend of 50 years, Elizabeth Sessa Fazzone. In 1977, they moved to Platts-burgh where, together with their children, they owned and operated Mama Mia's Restaurant. After retirement, Tony fulfilled a lifelong dream of building signature homes in the Capital District. He loved sports. Tony played, coached, and never missed his children's sporting events. He enjoyed his Wednesday morning golf league at Van Patten Golf Course and was an avid fan and staunch supporter of the New York Giants. Tony was a devoted husband and father, deeply committed to his family. Gatherings with love ones gave him great joy as did the activities and interests of his children and grandchildren. He especially loved traveling and the annual family vacations. He was the cornerstone of the family and his devotion and involvement were surpassed only by his caring and love. He leaves behind a legacy in his beloved children, Lisa and Joseph Travis, Lori Dietrick, Lynn and Michael LeFevre and Anthony and Eileen Fazzone. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Mark and Jaclyn Dietrick, Alexandra and Victoria Travis, Michael LeFevre, Anthony J. (Jack), William and Harrison Fazzone. Tony was prede-ceased by his beloved sisters, Mary Tiberio, Marge Aldi and Angie Constantino; his much loved nephews, Joseph Fazzone and Al Tiberio; and brothers-in-law, R. Michael Sessa, Al Constantino, Ralph Ferri and Fred Tiberio. He is survived by his loving family, sister and brother-in-law, Rae and Steve Pasquariello; his brother and sister-in-law, A. Joseph and Ruth Fazzone; his sister-in-law, Louise Sessa and brother-in-law, Peter Aldi. He also leaves many dear nieces and nephews. The family extends its gratitude to the "angel" nurses of St. Mary's Hospital, Troy, in the Progressive Care Unit. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning, July 30 at 8:15 a.m. at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, N.Y. followed at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Family and friends may call at the Bond Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, July 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in Tony's name to St. Anthony's Church, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady, NY 12305 or to Hannah's Hope for G.A.N., 19 Blue Jay Way, Rexford, NY 12148. "If in the end it can be said of you- the world is a better place for your having lived-you are a success" adapted from the writing of Bessie Stanley.
