Arthur Mackey Obituary

LOUDONVILLE Arthur L. Mackey, 75, of Loudonville, died Sunday, April 27, 2003 at Albany Memorial Hospital with his family at his side, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Louise Zahn Mackey for 53 years. Born in Newburgh, he was the son of the late Arthur H. and Gladys Legg Mackey. A graduate of Wallkill Central High School and Russell Sage College, where he received his degree in accounting. Mr. Mackey was an accountant with New York State for 30 years, the last several years with the Department of Social Services, retiring in 1983. In 1980, he and his family opened the Luzerne Market in Lake Luzerne, N.Y. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He resided in Loudonville for the past 53 years and was a member of of the NYS Tax and Finance retirees. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert Mackey and Stephen Mackey and his wife Licia, all of Glens Falls; three grandchildren, Stephanie, James and Heather Mackey; two sisters and their husbands, Jeanette and Donald Stillwagon of Newburgh and Beatrice and Thomas Carrick of Essex, N.Y. Funeral service 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Bowen Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Friends are invited and may call Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment in Gerald B.H.
