We will never forget meeting the entire Jojo family for the first time at Ashton's funeral, as Alyssa, Ashton's cousin, was in a serious relationship with our son, Jonathan. My heart went out to all the family then, and it continues to do so even now. Our grandson was born the same year as Ashton. Whenever he reaches a milestone in his life, it serves as a reminder of how old Ashton would have been....my heart aches for the family all over again. Hope it comforts the family to know that people still think about her and care.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. Know that Ashton is safe in God's arms now. I was in Ashton's class. She was the nicest girl in my class. I just moved to Virginia the day after I heard the bad news. If I was still in New York I would have attended the funeral. My prayers are with you.

To my extended family, I am VERY sorry for your loss! I love Ashton just as much as you do! She was like part of my family! Her mom and my mom are very close! Mrs.Jojo/mommy was like another mom to me! Ashton and I were like sisters! Throughtout 5th grade, Ashton and I had tiny differences, but we solved them together, as a team! We spent everyday together at school, along with our best friend, Maddie! A couple months before the Jojo's had moved, I gave Ashton a Best Friend keychain. It was a magnetic heart that looked something like this...

One time when Ashton and I played cello together in fourth grade we were waiting for Mrs. Bitner and Ashton opened her book to the wrong page. The song was The Can Can and we got up and started being silly and dancing around doing kicks. The funny part is then Mrs. Bitner walked in and we all stopped abruptly. We had so much fun together. Ashton will be missed and loved forever.
