Benoit, Barbara D. TROY Barbara D. Benoit, 87, of Eddy Heritage House died Friday, October 12, 2018, at her residence. Born in Brunswick she was the daughter of the late Edward and Leonora Keough Degen. She was a 1949 graduate of Lansingburgh High School. Barbara had retired from N.Y.S. Taxation and Finance after 15 years of service. Earlier she was employed by the former N.Y. Telephone Co. She was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh and a longtime communicant of the former St. Anne's Church in Waterford. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and had volunteered at Our Lady of Hope Residence in Latham. She was the widow of Donald L. Benoit; and mother of Susan A. Miron (Frank) of Waterford, James M. Benoit (Florence) of Medford, Thomas E. Benoit (Ellen) of Waterford and the late Donald J. Benoit Sr. She was the mother-in-law of Deirdre Benoit of Halfmoon. She was the sister of the late Earl and Michael Degen and Julianne Bennett. She was the proud grandmother of Donald Benoit Jr., Kristine Benoit, Tracy Kane, Jaime McOmber, Christopher Miron, Lauren and Kylie Benoit. Eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Augustine's Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
