Barbara J. LaVenture

LaVenture, Barbara J. SCHENECTADY Barbara J. LaVenture, 71, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Hudson. She grew up in Guilder-land Center before moving to Schenec-tady where she resided for more than 50 years. Barbara graduated from Guilderland High School and Albany Junior College and obtained a licensed practical nurse degree. She worked as a home-care nurse for many years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald A. LaVenture. Barbara is the mother of Antoinette (Tim) Adamczak, Michelle Durling, Lisa LaVenture, David (Kimber-lee) LaVenture, Robert (Angela) LaVenture and Christopher (Kozeta) LaVenture. She is the sister of Marilyn (Norman) Miller. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Ashley, Andrew, Brandon, Logan and Rhiannon as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 20 at 11:30 a.m., at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, Guilderland. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 10 to 11 a.m., at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Route 155, south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery on Jolly Road, Glenmont.
