Schultz, Barbara C. ALBANY Barbara C. Schultz, one of the brightest lights went out on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Barbara was born in Tarentum, Pa. on September 26, 1941, to the late Edgar and Evelyn McLaughlin. The family moved to New York in 1953. Barbara attended South Colonie Schools and in 1957, she met the great love of her life, "Roger," at a block dance in Central Park, Schenectady. They married in 1959 and raised four wonderful children. Barbara was a homemaker most of her married life, waiting until the kids were old enough before joining the family business, Schultz's Garden Center. She was a wonderful, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a peacemaker and counselor for the whole family. Her smile was luminous and radiated the love and joy she had for life. Her presence was like a fragrant bouquet of beautiful flowers that could brighten any room. Her kindness and compassion for others made her a true angel on earth. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her and will be missed forever. Barbara is survived by her husband of 61 years, Roger Schultz; her children, Roger (Debi) Schultz Jr., Catherine Schultz Hay, Louis (Simona) Schultz, and Jennifer Schultz; her grandchildren, Amy (John) Novak, Kristen Schultz, Jaime (Adam) Schultz, Lauren (Rob) Schultz-Przybylowicz, Molly Hay, and Roger Schultz; her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Luke, Derrick, Lily, and Julian; her siblings, Bette (Donald) Marsh, William (Shirley) McLaughlin, and the late Robert (Keiko) McLaughlin; and longtime best friend, Jeanie Bunnecke, as well as many nieces and nephews. Barbara waged a valiant two-year and seven-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Her courage and strength were inspirational and will be always remembered. Special thanks to Dr. Younes and the nursing staff at NYOH for their care.
