HALFMOON - Benjamin J. Baranowski, 35, formerly of Mechanicville, passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2025. Ben was born on March 20, 1990, in Schenectady. He was the son of Joseph Baranowski and Rebecca Radliff Baranowski, and attended schools in the Mechanicville School District. Known lovingly as "Little Benny," he worked for B&M Construction, and later found true happiness working alongside his brother at Josh's Small Engine Repair. There, he was learning the details of small engine work and took pride in growing his skills. Benny was someone people never forgot. He had a big personality, a strong heart, and a sense of humor that filled a room. He cared deeply for others and gave freely, whether it was his time, help, laughter, or kindness. He always showed up for the people he loved. He often lived by the quote from one of his favorite movies: "Too weird to live, and too rare to die." Benny was always himself, bold, caring, complex, and one of a kind. His passing does not define his life. He will be remembered for his strength, his generosity, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely. He lived fully, loved deeply, and left this world changed, simply by being in it. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Karlee Grace Baranowski; his parents, Joseph and Rebecca Baranowski; his brothers, Joshua (Amanda) Baranowski and Maxwell (Naiveda Gates) Baranowski; his nephews and nieces, Chase, Scarlett, and Piper; Jordyn and Hunter, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 4, from 12 to 2 p.m., at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 South Main St., Mechanicville, N.Y. 12118.
