Bischoff, Charlotte E. BRUNSWICK Charlotte Evelyn Wood Bischoff died February 14, 2008. Grandshot loved to dance. In her senior year, she won Katonah High School trophy for ballroom dancing with her current beau, reminis-cent of the "dance till you fell into the pool scene" from " It's a Wonderful Life." Born April 26, 1926, Charlotte Evelyn Wood Bischoff had just that a great life filled with golden memories from her own happy childhood in Mount Kisco, N.Y. and the ancestral home she adored, the Deyo House in New Paltz, N.Y. Graduating from Syracuse with a master's in psychology, she pursued a career as a teacher; getting hitched to Robert Bischoff Jr. along the way and raising three incredible children (her words) she always said were her greatest accomplishment. Balancing the demands of an active household and professional tutoring, Mom's lifelong passion for knowledge (although a known devotee to "The Young and the Restless") enabled her to touch many lives with an implacable faith in the potential goodness in all kids. Charlotte believed in every child who walked through her doorway. In her latter years, her greatest joy (besides counseling her children!) was assisting and supporting the students from Redemption Christian Academy who fondly called her "Mrs. B." Not only was her home a harbor for lost kids, Mom always had room for every stray animal that crossed her path. Not surprising for a woman whose favorite book was "All Creatures Great and Small" and called her Weight Watchers candidate cat "Twiggy' with deadpan expression. Mom was that quintessential woman who nurtured a home always ready to received anyone no matter how late, how lost, how hurt or just wanting to sit for a spell. Although she never did find anyone who shared her zest for olive pimento sandwiches. Incapacitated from an injury, in her later years, Mom was an effusive armchair cheerleader for her (fantastic) grandchildren, taking unconditional delight in every adventure and success they shared with her. No family was better loved than the Bischoff family by Charlotte Bischoff. Charlotte is survived by her three incredible children, Cathy, Bob and Mark; her much loved daughter-in-law, Deborah; adopted daughters, Midori and Mary; her nieces, Susie and Chris and their families; and four fantastic grandchildren, Sarah, Kirsten, Hannah and Mary. All are invited to a memorial service to be held at Eagle Mills Methodist Church (intersection Route 2 and Garfield, Eagle Mills, N.Y.) on Tuesday, February 19 at 10:00 a.m. A burial service will follow in New Paltz, N.Y. Grandshot "Mrs. B" Charlotte Bischoff, our Mom, is finally going home.
