Bernice J. Buchakjian

Buchakjian, Bernice J. ALBANY Bernice J. Smith Buchakjian, 93, passed away from this earth to be with her Lord and honey on December 1, 2008. Bernice was born in Cohoes on October 6, 1915 to Josephine and John Smith. She married the love of her life, Vahan, on October 10, 1943. Her parents, husband and brothers, John and Ray, preceded her in death. Bernice is survived by her children, Richard and Valerie Buchakjian and Ronald and Vivian Peters; her grandchildren, Vahan (Michelle) Buchakjian, Kyle (Courtney) Buchakjian, Melissa (Chad) Hackmann, Katherine Peters and Brian Peters and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Anthony (Dorothy) Smith; and cousins. Bernice's last years were filled with love and devoted care by her son and daughter-in-law, whom without she could not have enjoyed so many wonderful days. Bernice felt that her life on earth was blessed and wonderful. She was a strong, stylish and generous woman who often said that she would not have changed a thing in her life. Bernice was a dedicated wife and mother who has left a legacy of love, family values, religious beliefs and style to her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, Crumitie Road, Lou-donville. Interment will follow in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy. There will be no calling hours.
