Rose, Bette W. EAST GREENBUSH Bette W. Rose, 91 of East Greenbush, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at St. Peter's Hospital. Born on April 7, 1927, she was the only daughter of George and Dorothy Waghorn. She grew up and raised her family in East Greenbush. She was an insurance broker for Rose and Shea Associates. She was a member and past president of Insurance Women of Albany, Certified Professional Insurance Women CPIW, Federation of Insurance Professionals for New York State. She was a Weight Watchers Lifetime Member leader where she inspired and motivated many for 29 years, retiring at age 89. Bette enjoyed traveling with friends, her Betty Boop collection, giving hugs, and spending time with her family. Memories of her quick wit, color-coordinated outfits, bling jewelry and sassy spunky ways will remain in our hearts forever. Bette was predeceased by husband of 31 years, Edgar S. Rose Jr. She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie (Ron) Vooris and Tracy (Tom) Teal; three sons, Bradley (Pauline) Rose, Jeffrey (Holly) Rose and Todd (Hyuna) Rose; 14 grandchildren, Stephanie (Eric) Leonard, Rachael (Jim) Kosior, Joshua Rose, Andrew (Callie) Rose, Bryan (Kristi) Rose, Tyler Rose, Christine (Clay) Slaughter, Daniel (Liz) Vooris, Michael (Amanda) Vooris, Taylor Teal, Tori Teal, Tara Teal, Sarah Rose and Matthew Rose; and 11 great-grandchildren. A special thank you to the staff at St. Peter's Hospital, especially Amanda, Piper, Mary, Kristine, Neecha, Michael and Andrew for the love and care that you all provided to Bette. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral at 4 p.m. on Saturday in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc. 165 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer. Friends may call prior to the service from 12-4 p.m. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, that those who wish to remember Bette make a memorial contribution to the Connecting Point Church, P.O. Box 5, East Greenbush, NY, 12061 in her memory.

I am so saddened to learn of Bette's death. We have taken turns calling each other every week for years. I have been trying to reach her for weeks and decided to check the obituaries and saw this sweet, sweet lady's face. I am so sorry for your loss. She loved her family above all. I will miss our chats. I loved that woman so much!

I met Bette a year or more ago at Connecting Point Church. From the moment she walked into the room she had an audience, such a way with people and I knew somehow we'd met before but I couldn't remember. Week after week i would see and speak with her briefly (always walking away laughing) but It never came to me how I knew her. I realized one day that I hadn't seen her in a few weeks so she being on my mind, it hits me! Back after my first daughter was born (15 years ago) I had joined and attended weight watchers. I absolutely remembered her always having her short hair, bold jewellery and colors, and a huge personality! I loved her! She made going to weight-loss meetings enjoyable. She was so loud and funny, sharing stories of her family and younger years. Unfortunately I never got to see Bette again after my realization of who she was. I wanted to thank her for being who she was then to me at that point in my life. She was a very special lady and I'll never forget her (again), that's for sure!
