Brian Gronczniak Obituary
STILLWATER - Brian D. Gronczniak, 67, died at Westchester Medical Center on June 12, 2024, after a brief illness. Born in Troy on May 31, 1957, son of the late Henry "Bill" and Evelyn "Marie" Gronczniak, Sr., he was a Stillwater High School graduate.
Brian had work for many years at G.E. Silicone Products Division, Waterford, and later joined the Local 1163 Millrights, where he finished his career. In his spare time, Brian enjoyed golf, fishing, tinkering in the garage (especially on small engines), and also enjoyed cooking, baking and canning. He was a longtime member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 1644 Stillwater. He was also a member, director, producer and actor with the former Stillwater Players Among Others (SPAO) and had also directed for Stillwater High School plays.
In addition to his parents, Brian was predeceased by his longtime companion, Susan Sheldrick, in 2020; and brothers, Billy and Bobby Gronczniak.
Survivors include his daughters, Crystal (Justin) Baker and Becky Gronczniak (Will Donahey); grandchildren, Teya and Landen Staie, and Danika Baker; brothers, Bruce and Barry Gronczniak; sister-in-law, Diane Gronczniak; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind Susan's daughter and grandson, Ashley and Lucas Sheldrick, whom he always treated as his own.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 4 - 6 p.m. at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S. Main St., Mechanicville, N.Y. A Funeral Home Service will begin at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 1644, 81 East St, Mechanicville, N.Y. 12118, in memory of Brian D. Gronczniak.
