Brian Truax Obituary

Truax, Brian RICHMOND, Vt. Brian R. Truax, 50, died August 26, 2007 at his home in Richmond, Vt. He was born at Bellevue Hospital in Niskayuna, N.Y. on August 23, 1957. He was the son of Charles Truax and Genevieve (Fischer) Truax and stepson of Marie (deSzell) Truax Clifton Park. He graduated from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School in 1975. He graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in computer engineering. He was employed as a senior engineer at General Dynamics in Burlington, Vt. He was an avid Adirondack Mountain climber, climbing more than 36 high peaks. He loved the outdoors and was an accomplished downhill and telemark skier. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Chester) Truax; two daughters, Heather and Ashley of Richmond, Vt.; brother Bruce Truax and his wife Andrea; nieces Nicole and Morgan; nephew Reed Truax of Southington, Conn.; father Charles Truax; step-mother Maria Truax of Clifton Park; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Marilyn and John Allevato and Lorraine and John Pearce; nieces Nicole Allevato, Lindsay and Angela Pearce; nephews Tony and Johnny Allevato all of Mich. Funeral services will be at the Congregational Church, 20 Church St., Richmond, Vt. 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Gifford Funeral Home at 22 Depot St. in Richmond, Vt., Wednesday, August, 29. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Adirondack Mountain Club, 814 Goggins Road, Lake George, NY 12845 in memory of Brian R. Truax.
