Bruno Gatti Obituary

Gatti, Bruno A. NISKAYUNA Bruno A. Gatti, 86, of Niskayuna, passed away at home on Sunday, May 3, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Alexander and Angela (Moroni) Gatti. Bruno served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of the GE Apprentice School. Bruno was employed as a senior draftsman for the General Electric Company in Schenectady, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady. Bruno was a former member of the Colonie Elks. He was also a great supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Bruno was an avid history buff and reader. He had a great love of music and had a keen appreciation for big band music and jazz music. Bruno was a real patriot for his country and again very proud of his military service. His family will always admire his bravery, strong will and courage. We will greatly miss his gentleness and strength. Besides his parents, Bruno is predeceased by his one brother, Arno Gatti; one sister, Alma Gatti; one nephew, Gregg Gatti and one daughter-in-law, Susan Gatti. Bruno is survived by his loving wife, Marian (DeSorbo) Gatti, whom he married May 8, 1954; one son, Glenn Gatti of Esperance; two daughters, Denise G. Isopo (Giuliano Jr.) of Ballston Lake and Carol Sitterly (Douglas) of Latham, also survived by four grandchildren, Matthew (Emilia), Giuliano III, Alessandra and Richard, as well as two nieces, Elaine Pendrak and Carla Wishinsky and one nephew, William DeSorbo. A private memorial Mass will be held at the convenience of the family.There will be no calling hours by request. Contributions may be made in Bruno's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady.
