Dad,
You were such an amazing part of our lives. Your daughter, my wife, Cyndy is like you in so many ways. She is a caring, loving person who never lets life's burdens defeat her or weigh her down... She is a fighter, just like you. So many times I have told her, "You are just like your father"... and that, to her, was the greatest compliment she could receive. Although I knew you for so many years, our visit to your home in Florida (when you called me "your son") changed the depth of our relationship, and how I wished we could have spent many more years together. You were there for the birth of our first child. I remember how proud you were to hold him... the first person to do so after we got home from the hospital. We relished the stories of how you used to take "Peanut" (your nickname for him) for rides in your truck and how proudly you showed him off to your mother (our Baci). You took care to help us make ends meet in our early married years... in fact, 42 years later, we still have that first kitchen table you gave us! Your strength of character, your convictions for truth are both firmly ingrained in your daughter, my Cyndy. Sometimes her resilience amazes me and she will quote her favorite saying (Your motto) "You don't work until you're tired. You work until you're done." and I can see the strength you imbued into her as your child. Thank you for being the kind of father who gave me such a wonderful spouse and for being such an important part of our lives for so many years. Thank you for creating in her a love for God that is both strong and deep. We look forward to the day we will meet again, Dad.
I love you, Dad.
Your "son",
Roger

My father was the most wonderful man I have ever known, next to my husband, Roger. My Dad told Roger that he loved him as his son, and he was loved in return, as a dear and caring father. He was strong when he needed to be, tender and gentle as a way of life, skilled both in his professional and private careers. He was a skilled craftsman. I don't think there was anything he couldn't build from the ground up. He taught me how to do a job to the best of my abilities and his motto has been my life's motto: "You don't work until you're tired. You work until you're done." Dad, your work on earth is finally done. I will miss you always but am glad you have found rest and peace with your loved ones in Heaven. You taught me about God from a young child and whenever I hear the Lord's Prayer sung, I will hear your voice singing it to me, as that little child cuddled in your arms. No words can ever capture the loss I feel at your parting. When it is my turn to face death, I pray your strong yet gentle hands will be there to guide me home. I love you Dad... forever and always... your daughter, Cyndy
