Catherine R. Malik

Malik, Catherine R. EASTON Catherine R. Malik, 71 of McGowan Road, beloved wife of 52 years to Robert S. Malik, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany. Born in Lansingburgh, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Scifriedsberger Ryan and was a graduate of the class of 1958 of Lansingburgh High School. Mrs. Malik had been employed as an office manager for the former Ryan & Son Insurance Co. in Lansingburgh, lastly at Rose & Kiernan Insurance Co. until retiring in 2002. She was a former communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh and St. John the Baptist in Schaghticoke. Catherine enjoyed her home and family and will be truly missed. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, the late Robert ( Robby) Malik; and a brother Dave Ryan. Beloved wife of Robert; devoted mother of John Mailk of Troy; sister of Ed and Tom Ryan, both of Troy, Fred Ryan of Halfmoon, Pat (Ray) Moore, Mary (the late, Jim) Lance and Judy (Joe) Rizzo, all of Troy, Helen (the late Jim) Upton of Halfmoon, Dorothy (Warren) Sheldrick of Latham and Jean (Tony) Bourdeau of Troy; cherished grandmother of Brianna Malik of Troy; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. (Corner of 115th St. and Fourth Avenue) in Lansingburgh. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held in St. John Cemetery in Schaghticoke.
