Charles Alvarez Obituary
LATHAM - Charles E. Alvarez, 57, a former resident of Mechanicville, died unexpectedly on February 12, 2023, after a series of recent medical issues.
Born in Troy on October 4, 1965, the son of the late Sherry Alvarez DeVito, he was raised by his mom and grandfather, Arthur "Tootie" Alvarez. A 1985 graduate of Mechanicville High School, Chuck served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. He worked as a laborer for Royal Dyer Construction for several years. He enjoyed watching football, drawing, painting and playing the guitar. Chuck was also a very religious man who found comfort in studying the Bible.
Survivors include his sons, Christopher Alvarez and Eric Alvarez; sister, Mary Ann Willsey; brother, Sean (Mary) Alvarez; nieces, Julianne (Chris) Collins and Kaitlyn Willsey; and nephew, Matthew Willsey among other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Charles E. Alvarez.
