CASTLETON - Christine A. Wagner, 80, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Loudonville Assisted Living Residence with her son and daughter at her side.
Christine was born in Amsterdam, N.Y. the daughter of the late Edwin Burke and Marion (Conrad) Burke.
She is a graduate of the class of 1962 from Cardinal McCloskey High School (now Bishop Maginn)
She was a long-time resident of Castleton, N.Y., for over 50 years, where she raised her family and was an active member of the community. Chris was a long-time member of the Castleton Kiwanis, as well as PALS, Telephone Pioneers, Boy, and Girl Scouts of America. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, traveling, and spending time going to her grandchildren's sporting and
school events.
She worked at First Trust and Deposit Company in Albany, the Resurrection Nursing Home in Castleton New York and retired from The New York Telephone/Verizon Company. After retirement Chris began working at the Schodack Central Schools as an aid and Maple Hill High School in the cafeteria so she could continue working in a community she loved.
Survivors include her son, David and Terri (Peterson) Wagner; daughter, Brenda (Wagner) and Michael Redcross; grandchildren, Matthew and Christopher Redcross, and Julianna and Kyle Wagner; her sisters, Elaine C. Burke, and Sheila (Dugan) and David Maher of Colorado Springs, CO; sister-in-law, Nancy (Wagner) Webb of Loudonville, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husband, James H. Wagner; brother, Paul L. Burke; and sister, Jean M. Pollard.
Thank you to the staff at Loudonville, especially the Memory and Enhanced Care Units. We will always cherish the Love and care you provided.
Friends and family are invited to call Thursday, October 17, from 5-7 p.m., in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc., 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, N.Y. 12144. A funeral will be held the following day, Friday, in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Blooming Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Christine's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern N.Y., or ALS Regional Center at St. Peters
