Colleen Marie Rounds Connell

Connell, Colleen Marie Rounds TROY Colleen Rounds Connell passed away peacefully on June 10, 2022, after a brief illness. She was 71. Colleen is survived by her husband, Kevin P. Connell Sr. as well as three loving children, Kevin P. Connell Jr. and his wife Chrystal of Ramsey, N.J., Kelly Connell Strait and her spouse Courtney of Clifton Park, and Kasey Connell Kemmy and her husband Sean of Averill Park. She will be forever missed by her seven grandchildren, whom she adored above all else, Reese, Patrick, and James Connell, Tatum and River Strait, and Kinsley and Sean Kemmy Jr. The daughter of Claude and Mildred Rounds, Colleen was born in Troy on November 28, 1950. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Kevin, on November 25, 1972. Marrying into another large, loving Irish family was the perfect fit for Colleen, and together she and Kevin settled in Troy. A self-proclaimed Troy girl, she graduated from Catholic Central High in 1970. Colleen and Kevin raised their three children in Watervliet and Troy, and she loved nothing more than encouraging her children in their passions, whether on the field or on the stage. She devoted her life to her children, but built a career in the healthcare field at Samaritan Hospital and Capital Cardiology where she came to love her patients as if they were her own. After her children were grown, she couldn't wait for her next title... "Grandma." It didn't take long to fill her heart even more, with seven little people to admire her, love her, and fulfill her life. Between her family and many, many friends, there are few people on earth more adored than Colleen, and she will be forever missed. Colleen was predeceased by her parents, Claude and Mildred Rounds; as well as her dear in-laws, Thomas F. and Shirley Connell. Also greeting her in heaven are dear brothers-in-law, Tom and Terry Connell; and sister-in-law, Colleen Connell Smith. On earth, she additionally leaves behind many adoring family and friends including: Claude Rounds (Jean), Kevin Rounds, Nancy Harack (Kenneth), and little sister, Kimberly Garrett; as well as David Connell, Tim Connell and wife Joan, Patricia Connell Murley and husband Tom, and Larry Smith; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Forever in our hearts, Colleen's Irish eyes shall smile down on us from Heaven until we meet again. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Ave., Troy, on Tuesday, June 14, from 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend John Yanas at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, in the Sacred Heart Church, Troy.
