Connor Strain Obituary

Strain, Connor Jacob BALLSTON LAKE Connor Jacob Strain, age five months, passed away suddenly on December 24, 2018. Connor went to sleep with the Angels. Born on July 31, 2018, in St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, he was the son of Jacob Timothy Strain and Nichole Anne Delamater; and little brother of Ryan William Hoch. Connor is survived by many loved ones including his grandparents, Melissa Kluth (Godfrey) (William Jr.), Timothy Strain, Tammy DeLaMater (John), and Daniel Jerome (Donna); great-grandparents, Patricia Kluth, Patricia and William DeLaMater Sr., and Vivianne and Robert Strain. He had many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. His family also had friends who were like family, and they loved him just the same. Connor made a great impact on everyone's lives, bringing a ray of sunshine to the hearts of anyone who had the opportunity to see him smile. He would watch you with great wonder and excitement in his eyes. If he knew you were coming his way, his legs would kick, and he would just know he was about to get loads of hugs and kisses. Connor would only cry when he was waiting for his bottle. His favorite song was Baby Shark and it always was the go to, to help sooth him when we were in the car, store, restaurant or even home. Ryan loved him with his whole heart and used to talk with him in the car and even had his own chair in his room for him. Jacob taught Connor his first word "Hey" at just four months old. He loved his binky, he only used one special type. He loved his goodnight bear and his yellow blankey, passed down by his older brother. He would sleep through the night, smile through the day, and the light in his eyes could take your breath away. This sweet angel sent from Heaven is gone from us far too soon, but God had a job for him to do. He was far too perfect to walk this Earth, we suppose God knew that before his birth. He showed us how to love, he showed us how to care, and even though we can't see him, he will always be there. In our hearts Connor will live on forever, five months wasn't long enough, but it's a time we all treasure. Calling hours for Connor are on Monday, December 31, at the Babcock Funeral Home in Ravena from 3-7 p.m. There will be a church service in the Church of Immaculate Conception in Glenville at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to have donations made in Connor's name made to Sudden Infant Death Resource Center, School of Social Welfare, 101 Nicolls Road, Health Sciences Center, Level 2, Room 111, Stony Brook, NY, 11794-8231.
