Constance Hogan Obituary

Hogan, Constance M.
CHARLTON - Constance M. Hogan passed away peacefully, on November 11, 2024, in Scotia, NY. She was born on September 17, 1936, the eldest daughter of the late Francis and Marie (Giannotti) Delaney. Her life was full of love, laughter, and dedication woven through her 88 years.
Connie's journey began in Long Island City, N.Y., where she cultivated a love for cooking alongside her Italian grandmother and cherished memories of outings to Coney Island. At the age of 15, her family relocated to Hicksville, Long Island, where she would soon meet her future husband, Robert Hogan, at a church dance. Their love blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and not long after graduating from Hicksville High School, Connie and Bob were married on August 27, 1955. Together they raised four children: Robert, Maureen, John, and James, creating a home filled with love and joy.
In 1970, the family moved to upstate N.Y., first to Burnt Hills and later to Charlton, where Connie and Bob bought their first home. Connie went to work first as a teller at the former Schenectady Trust, and later joined the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake school system, where she worked for 25 years and became the district treasurer. Working for the school district was a source of great pride for Connie, and the friendships she made endured long after her she left the school district in 1998.
After her retirement, Connie and Bob loved spending time with their children and grandchildren. Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays were always the best of times. They took a number of trips to Europe with friends and family and they created with each other a lifetime of new memories.
A testament to her loving nature, Connie was a devoted mother to Robert Hogan (Jean), Maureen Hogan (Joseph Schewe), John Hogan (Maureen) and James Hogan (Catherine). Her nurturing spirit extended to her role as Nannie to her grandchildren: Benjamin, Nicholas, Cara, Robert Preslar (Emiko Dodo), Michael Schewe (Hannah), Jonathan Schewe (Ciara), Kelsey, Jenna, Jonathan Keefe (Tammy), Alicia Keefe, Phillip Payne, Anna Payne, Jessica Payne (Damien Whipple), Lindsay Phelps (Kyle) and Olivia Sizemore (Justin). Her legacy of love continued to flourish as she embraced the role of Great-Nannie to Helen Dodo, Jane Schewe, Claire Schewe, Jack Schewe, Henry Schewe, Bennett Schewe, Makayla Keefe, Christopher Keefe, Mila Payne, Angelina Gutto, Kaylie Dingman, Ivy Phelps, Wesley Phelps and Eden Sizemore. Connie was the sister to Agnes Bonventre (Anthony) and the late Francis Delaney.
Connie was the epitome of kindness and courage, always lending a supportive hand or a listening ear. Her children's extracurricular activities brought her great excitement, and she and Bob were their biggest cheerleaders, proudly supporting their athletic, musical, and creative endeavors. Friends of the family were always welcomed with open arms, and there was never a shortage of love or food at the Hogan family table.
As a wife, Connie was loving and steadfast, sharing a beautiful bond with her late husband Robert, who was her high school sweetheart and partner in every adventure.
She will be remembered as a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and a loyal friend whose kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her courageous spirit and enduring love will continue to inspire her family and friends.
