Curtis Hayner Obituary
TROY - Curtis G. Hayner, 65, passed away in the loving arms of his wife, on December 31, 2023, at his home.
Born and raised in Troy, he was the son to the late Marvin Hayner and Margaret Frisch Hayner; and the loving husband to Beth Killian Hayner.
Curtis was educated at St. Patrick's School, Troy High School and Hudson Valley Community College.
He worked for over 20 years at Amerada Hess Corp. and later at Armstrong in Amsterdam as a boiler engineer until his retirement.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Beth Hayner; his siblings, Midge (Frank) Groff, Martha (Joseph) Rounds, Marvin (Lynn) Hayner, Alida (Kevin) Hayner-Buchan; his nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and his faithful K-9, EdithAnn. Curtis loved going on cruises, camping and most of all spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his mother and father, he was predeceased by his brother, Joseph (Mary) Hayner. Family and friends are invited and may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m., on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Wynantskill Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Road, Wynantskill. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday January 6, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Eagle Mills Cemetery. Please visit, www.wynantskillfh.com

I want to St. Patricks with Curt. He was a good guy. When we were in 6th, 7th and 8th grade we had a demerit system. 5 demerits in a week you would have to go to school for 2 hours on Saturday. The teacher used to write your name on a card. Curt would collect the cards at the end of the day. He brought them to the principal. He would look for my and 6 other guys name card, then tear our cards up! I probably had 50 demerits a month, never spent one second in school on Saturday! Curt was a good guy!
