Menihane, Fr. Daniel Joseph O.S.A. BRYN MANOR, Pa. Fr. Daniel Joseph Menihane, O.S.A. was born on April 1, 1932 in Lawrence, Mass and died on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Bryn Manor Terrace, Bryn Manor, Pa. He was the son of Daniel S. and Mary T. (O'Leary) Menihane. He attended elementary and high school in Lawrence, Mass. He was received into the Augustinian Order as a novice in September 1950. He graduated from Villanova University in 1954 and professed solemn vows that same year. He pursued theological studies at the Gregorian University (1954 1958) and was ordained to the priesthood on December 21, 1957 in Rome. He spent some 34 years in various high schools run by the Augustinian Order in the New York and Philadelphia area. Fr. Menihane ministered in the Albany Diocese from 1993 to 2005. He was in parish ministry at St. Augustine's Parish from 1993-1994 and then at Immaculate Conception in Hoosick Falls from 1994-1997. He came to St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Waterford, in 1997. The following year he was appointed pastor of St. Anne's Parish, Waterford, and continued to minister there until the parish closed in 2003. In 2005, because of failing health, he was transferred from St. Mary's Parish to St. Thomas Monastery, Villanova, Pa. There is a public viewing on Thursday, January 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 pm. The funeral Liturgy will follow at St. Thomas of Villanova Chapel, Villanova University. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lawrence, Mass.
