...Gosh, I'm shocked and saddened to hear of David's passing...! I just saw him at a Delmar neighborhood garage sale just two weeks ago, so I'm extra glad I said 'hi' to him. We bowled (on different teams) during a Friday night mixed league for several seasons, and he was another great-humored guy among a very fun-loving bunch. R.I.P. David....

To say that Dave was a good guy is an understatement. We car pooled in college and I worked for Dave, through Parks and Rec, for many, many years. He was one of the finest people I´ve known. My sympathies to his family and especially to Karen, Marlene, and David.

This is sad news. Dave was truly one of the nicest people I have worked with. As Director of Parks & Recreation, he was a superb manager of operations with a vision of constantly improving our parks and programs. His ability to deal with the public was one of his greatest assets. Rarely did a problem ever reach my office. His judgement, character and and success in life prove that nice guys finish first. RIP, my friend. Sincere condolences to Marlene and all of the Austin´s.
