David Filkins

Filkins, David EAST BERNE On December 2, 2018, David J. Filkins passed away suddenly at Albany Medical Center. He was a great man, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was born in Albany and resided in East Berne. He was a graduate of Berne-Knox-Westerlo class of 1988. Dave owned and operated his own business, East Berne Asphalt, LLC since 1998. He loved hunting, snowmobiling and spending time with his loving family. Dave is survived by his beloved wife Audra McHale and their adored son, Keenan Patrick Filkins. Also survived by his father, Judson D. Filkins; sister, Monica Filkins Castelli; nieces Morgan and Olivia Castelli; step-sisters Marcy (John) Ashline and Stacey (Lance) Woodworth; nephew, Wesley Grippin; great-aunt, Margaret Filkins; aunt, Barbara (Robert) Joslin; uncles, Richard (Wendy) Storm, Ray (Karen) Storm, Richard (Betty) Filkins, Ralph (Rosemary) Filkins; brother, Scott "Chubby" Green; brother-in-law, Kerin (Kerri) McHale; sister-in-law, Shannon McHale; and numerous cousins and their families. Dave is predeceased by his mother, Lee F. (Storm) Crosier; mother-in-law, Kathleen M. McHale; step-father, George Crosier; step-mother, Sandy Filkins; and aunt, Marion (Richard) Duffy. He will be missed and loved by many family and friends. Forever in our hearts. Calling hours will be held at the Fredendall Funeral Home,199 Main Street Altamont NY on Wednesday December 5, from 4-8 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday December 6, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery. A celebration of David's life will follow at the Maple on the Lake following the interment. All are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a fund for Keenan through Sefcu's Altamont Branch.
