Dennis Nolan Obituary

Nolan, Dennis J. LAKELAND, Fla. Dennis J. Nolan, 64, formerly of Green Island, died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at his home in Lakeland. Born in Green Island, son of Marie Goyette Nolan of Green Island and the late Joseph F. Nolan, he was raised in Green Island and lived in the Capital District until moving to Fla. 10 years ago. Dennis served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and had been employed by the former Bendix Corporation in Green Island for 32 years, retiring in 1993 as supervisor of computer operations. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife of 21 years, Bernadette Cleary Nolan; his children, Matthew Nolan of Castleton, Dennea Miller of Albany and Elizabeth Brown of Ballston Spa; his stepchildren, Daniel Sovie of Green Island, Tricia Sovie of Troy and Lourena Ingram of Lakeland; five sisters, Joan Kehn Powell of Latham, Shirley Swigor of Dewitt, Mary Alice Nolan and Betty Jacques, both of Green Island, and Patricia Eckels of Colonie; a brother, Edward Nolan of Ticonderoga; five grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Olivia and Marinda Nolan and Jack and Andrew Miller; six step-grandchildren and a step-great- grandson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Green Island on Saturday, March 3 at 9:00 a.m. Contributions, in memory of Dennis, may be made to the Cornerstone Hospice, 1285 First Street South, Winter Haven, FL 33880.
