Dominic DeMeo Obituary

DeMeo, Dominic P. COLONIE Dominic P. DeMeo, 85, of New Loudon Road, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Julie Blair Nursing Home, Albany, after a brief illness. Born in Camden, N.J., April 23, 1922, he was the son of the late Paul and Christine DeMeo. Dominic lived in Chester, Pa. for many years, and took a job transfer to Utica, N.Y. and later to Cohoes. Dominic was a warehouseman for Albany Supply Depot and a dealer return specialist for Ford Tractor in Cohoes for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. During World War II, Dominic enlisted in the US Navy. Dom was a die-hard N.Y. Yankee fan, and made custom coin jewelry as a hobby. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, John and Andrew DeMeo. Survivors include his brother, Paul (Elizabeth) DeMeo of Auburndale, Ma. and his sister-in-law, Mary DeMeo of Pennsauken, N.J.; his friend and co-worker, Joseph Fondano of Mechanicville, along with nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Assumption-St. Paul Church, William Street, Mechanicville. Burial with military honors at the Saratoga National Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9-10:30. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of one's choice.
