Kyea, Dorothy PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. Dorothy J. Kyea, 90, passed away on November 30, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born in Elgin, Illinois to the late John. B. and Jennie D. Beuerlein. She was the cherished wife of Alan A. Kyea. Dorothy and Alan retired to Port St. Lucie, Fla. about 11 years ago. Dorothy was a registered nurse at both the old and new Leonard Hospital of Troy for 25 years, touching the lives of many, many patients. In addition to her husband Alan, she is survived by her children, Deborah (George) Macy of Troy, Cynthia (Neil) McLaughlin of Florida, Michael (Rebecca) Wlazlo of Greenwich, and Alan (Jennifer) Kyea of Waterford. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Brian Joseph Muraski, Justin Michael Wlazlo, Jamie Leigh Rock, Matthew Alan Kyea, and Morgan Lynn Kyea; and her great-granddaughters Heyden Rock, Delaney Rock, Sage Rock and Logan Rock. She was predeceased by her sister, Catherine (James) Jacques of California. Dorothy will always be remembered for her caring and loving heart, and her willingness to put everyone else's needs above her own. She loved spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens. One of her favorites was her dragon fruit flowers which only opened at night - there were many nights she would stay up just to snap a few pictures to share with the family. Dorothy has left behind so very many memories on the countless lives she has touched and we thank her for that and so much more. Dorothy was a devout Catholic woman of strong faith; she also loved the beach. Family and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, December 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh. Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, in St. Mary the Assumption Church, 119 Broad Street, Waterford. Burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford.
