E. Brown Obituary

Brown, E. Leroy GLENMONT E. Leroy Brown, 98, of Glenmont, died Tuesday morning, December 4, 2007 at Barnwell Nursing and Rehab Center, Valatie. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Rose Dolch and Chester Hyatt Brown and the husband of the late Martha Stang Brown. A 1927 graduate of Albany High School, he worked as a butcher and later for the Railway Express in Albany. Mr. Brown was a charter member and first secretary of Selkirk Fire Co. #2, served as president of the Bethlehem Center School PTA and was active in the Glenmont Community Church (Reformed). Mr. Brown is survived by a son, Edward L. Brown and his wife Mary Jane and a daughter, Sue B. Delp and her husband Warren. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, W. Philip Delp and his wife Lyenda, Nancy E. Gardetto and her husband Chuck, David E. Brown and his wife Dr. Christina Brown, Dr. Pamela Polashenski and her husband Dr. Walter Polashenski, Eric R. Brown and his wife Tina, Gary E. Delp, Jennifer J. Brown and her husband Sean Collen, Carrie C. Brown and Katherine T. Delp; as well as eight great-grand-daughters, Samantha Brown, Maya, Anastasia and Tallis Polashenski, Christina and Trisha Brown, and Willow and Wren Delp. Mr. Brown was predeceased by his brothers, Chester and George Brown and sister, Viola Langwig. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Glenmont Community Church (Reformed). Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 at the church. Burial will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Glenmont Community Church, Chapel Ln., Glenmont, NY 12077 or the Selkirk Fire Co. #2, 301 Glenmont Rd., Glenmont, NY 12077.
