Edmund Cayo Obituary
PAHRUMP, Nev. - Edmund James Cayo of Pahrump, Nev., formerly from Castleton, passed away on August 7, 2023.
Edmund, born on December 22, 1935, was the son of Edmund and Effie Cayo. Edmund was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane (Wilcox) Cayo; and his brother, Robert Cayo. Edmund met his wife in high school and they were later married, eventually making a long drive to move west, landing in California. They were married for 62 years. Edmund earned a degree in engineering and enjoyed his job with the space industry, Kaiser, and as the owner of a number of small businesses that allowed him to tinker with and repair almost anything. He and his wife retired early and traveled all over in a trailer, including trips to Mexico. They also enjoyed riding ATVs to explore the desert, including around their eventual and final home in Pahrump, Nev.
He is survived by his daughters, Tracy (Joe) Valle and Christy (Jeff) Tyler; grandchildren, Madison and Alaina Valle; sisters-in-law, Janet Conway and Patricia Wilcox; brother-in-law, Bud Bump; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
