Edward Skarzynski Obituary

WEST SAND LAKE Edward M. Skarzynski passed peacefully in his sleep at Barnwell Nursing Home on Saturday, March 11, 2006 after a long illness. He was a dedicated employee of Caterpillar Tractor Company for 30 years and retired in 1982. He then worked for K-Mart for many years as the door greeter known by many as Mr. Ed. He loved the outdoors and gardening. His dogs Sandy and Eddie were cherished by him. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Stefan Skarzynski, brother Henry Skarzynski and sister, Lillian Fuchs. He is survived by his three children, Valerie Bidwell, Georgia and John Hover and James and Vikki Skarzynski; his grandchildren, Dawn Earing, Shawn Earing, Andrea Bidwell, Devin Hover, Timothy and Thaddeous Hasbrouck; and his great-grandchildren, Cassondra Phelan, James John Skarzynski, Austin Newcomb, Kayla, Robbie and Kimberly Hasbrouck and Dustin and Crystal Hall. Ed was also survived by his two sisters, Jenny Lindeman, Regina Yelle and sister-in-law Emily Skarzynski. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude for the loving care that Mr. Ed received during his illness at Barnwell Nursing Home. Edward donated his body as an anatomical gift, therefore there will be no services or calling hours. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer society at www.cancer.org or to the Rensselaer and Columbia County Hospice Units.
