I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Campbell. She was my kindergarten teacher in 1984. We shared a birthday and she always remembered that well into my high school years. My family likes to tell the story of how I took a swing at Mrs. Campbell my first day of Kindergarten because I did not want to leave my mom. I cried everyday for what felt like weeks. I eventually came to love Kindergarten and couldn't wait to go each day, in large part due to Mrs. Campbell. I can still remember the letter people, duck-duck goose, milk and cookies, and a trip to the Midway Fire Department…on foot!!!

We may never know how many hundreds of lives Mrs. Campbell touched. She truly did love each child as they were her own. Her kindness and loving ways helped to shape me and countless others in our early years of school. For most, Mrs. Campbell was the first person we encountered in our careers as students and I consider myself lucky to have come in contact with such a wonderful human being.

I firmly believe that I am the person I am today, at least in part, because of Mrs. Campbell's early influence; I hope she would be proud. There are many people who forget their Kindergarten teacher as they grow older. I believe that most of Mrs. Campbell's students will always remember her.

I am so sorry to the family and friends of Mrs. Campbell.. I have to say that Mrs. Campbell was the best teacher I had. She was my kindergarten teacher and I remember her soft ways and loving attention in my beginning stages of school. I can still remember doing the letter people with her and snack and nap time. She was an amazing teacher, I can only imagine what she was like as a mother and friend. God Bless. The Lord has a kind soul in his hands.

Brian and Terry: I am so grateful to be part of the tribute to your Mom during her memorial service and celebration of her life. She truly was the heart of Rapple Dr, opened her heart and arms to many large and small. Yesterday, you both gave her your heart and soul and I know she heard every beautiful word you both said. Such a wonderful family from the Laudenslagers to the Campbell's to the Murphy's. So much more love than any person could hope for. Remember the good times and all the funny stuff that happened during the 60's...it truly cannot be replaced. Be happy, that's what Mom's want for their families.

I have a beautiful picture of Elaine and my Mom, Rosemary Miller, in my living room. It was at my Mother's retirement dinner, a fellow kindergarten teacher at South Colonie. I remember Elaine as a great friend to my Mom, a sweet, fun loving person who had had a fondness for cows! I actually made a stuffed one for her once, she planned to take it to her home in Vermont. May our Moms be together once again, two wonderful women!

Mrs. Campbells family,

We share in your loss of Elaine, she was the kindergarten teacher of my 2 children back in the 1970's and 1980's..she left an impression on both of my children and I am sure hundreds of other students in the South Colonie district. She was a wonderful teacher, very caring, and treated each and every student the same....she will be forever remembered by all of them and will always be remembered as the best kindergarten teacher ever. Teachers come and go, but for Mrs Campbell no matter what the age, students always remember her as their Kindergarten teacher years and years later....
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I was a room mother in her class twice when my daughters were small. She was a caring and wonderful person besides being a great teacher. She made each child feel very special. May God bless her and her family.

Being the youngest of four, it was early in my life that I heard such wonderful things about my sibling's kindergarten teacher. When it was finally my turn to go to school, I was also blessed to have Mrs. Campbell as my kindergarten teacher. We still talk about how great of a woman and teacher she was. I remember wanting to sit next to hear during reading time and be front in line so I could hold her hand. She was always loving and made all of us kids feel special.
To the Campbell-Murphy family - May God bring you comfort in knowing that there is no more suffering and that she is happy and healthy.

Mrs. Campbell was the kindergarten teacher of both of our daughters and she was very beloved by both. Elaine was one of the best teachers my children ever had and she really came to the fore with our youngest child who had multiple handicaps. Mrs. Campbell certainly loved her students and she treated each and every child as if they were her very own children. Elaine will be missed by our family.

Mrs. Campbell was my son's kindergarten teacher at Veeder Elementary School.I cant tell you what a blessing she was to him and thousands of little 5 year olds that went through the South Colonie School District...I will never forget the Campbells soup decorations, witch costume on Halloween and her taking myself and a couple of other room mothers to Veeders for lunch. She was so generous and kind hearted,an absolute gem. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this sorrowful time.
